Paranormal Q&A Dan Guthrie (Chapter 3)

Dan GuthrieWho Are You?

Dan Guthrie

What are your thoughts on networking with other teams or investigators?

Yes and love it.

Hunter, Investigator, Researcher – What do you want to be referred to and why?

All of the above. That is what we do.

What is your most memorable paranormal experience?

When a female voice whispered in my ear “I’m naked!” I replied “Prove it!”

Have you ever had an experience where you’ve crossed a spirit over?

Yes.

Did you have experiences while growing up?

Many. I talked about it in my book called “A Haunted Life” (editors not see below to view book on amazon)

What is your favorite Paranormal Show (TV/Internet/Radio?

Love them all.

What are your thoughts about Provoking?

Never. When someone calls you and asks you to come into there home, the family is already scared. You have to remember that when you piss off a spirit, when you leave the home the family will have to deal with the pissed off spirit.

What are your thoughts about Orbs? Dust or spirit? How do you tell the difference?

You can never get a nonbeliever to believe a ball of light is a spirit.

Would you ever use a Medium or Psychic on your team?

Yes and have them in my group. I tell them if you pick something up get proof of it. Not just say so. If you see a spirit, then get a picture of it. If you hear one, then get it on audio.

Paranormal Q&A Dan Guthrie (Chapter 2)

Dan GuthrieWho are you?

Dan Guthrie Founder/Investigator and educator of the paranormal. My group is called Pampa Texas Paranormal Research Society.

Do you believe in Reincarnation? Who do you think you were in your past life (or lives)?

No. I believe we have 1 life and need to live it to the fullest.

What are your thoughts on Para Unity?

I believe there needs to be. We all should be doing this to help others. No one group is better then someone else. If there is something out there that you know that might help get or to understand or get better finding, then share it.

Have you ever investigated a Church? What are your thoughts on this?

Yes and I believe that some souls are just lost and need help to find their way.

When having a joint investigation with another team(s), how do you select the team(s) or members of other teams that you invite?

My group welcomes any group to Investigate with us. Those that do, we mix Investigators from both groups to work together. This helps teach each other new things that might help.

What do you tell someone looking to join a team, what should they look for or ask?

We ask why do they want to be part of our group. If they are looking to get on film or to be a Star or even just to see if they can see a spirits, We will turn them down. We want people that want to help other.

Any advice to a group just starting out?

Yes! Do this for the right reasons and not to get famous. Have faith. Debunk 1st before saying it’s paranormal.

Do you think it’s important to share findings with others in the paranormal community?

Yes and only if the owner of the location lets us share what is found.

You run across a team that you feel gives a bad name to the field. How do you handle the situation? Do you confront them about it?

Sometimes. Only confront in private and never in the open. That only starts drama. Our team will invite the other group to join us and work with members 1 on 1 to help teach them better. If they refuse, we just step back and leave them be.

Do you feel it is important to do a background investigation on the location (land/building) that you’re going to investigate?

Yes. The more you know the better.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

I think most of us have heard or recited that childhood limerick about want the rain to go away. For us when it rains the night of an investigation I consider it good luck… why you may ask? Well to be honest thinking back to Jennie Wade House Museum our first investigation had rain throughout the day, stopping right before we packed the gear to take it to the house and started again seemingly when we had things set up.  We had wonderful night  and many experiences, a few EVPS ~ starting on our journey to where we are today.  From that moment on I never looked at rain as negative, but a positive energy feeding/building tool for us to use. Sure a few outside investigations had to canceled because of rain but no day is perfect.

So for us its never rain, rain, go away! As much as its its rain baby, rain!  but then again I don’t think we’ve ever been accused of following a beaten path completely…. And that’s a good things my friends.  Blaze your own trails… let the rain wash some truth into your lives…. and if needed some of the negative out….

Peace,
