News & Notes on Independence Day!

Flag in the Wind

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having an awesome , safe and fun 4th with family and friends! I wanted to take a moment to just fill everyone in on what we’ve been up to last few weeks… We’ve been busy finalizing some cases, getting some info for possible ones upcoming and more importantly organizing ourselves for what’s next!

I’m sure your asking ‘what’s next?’ – I’m here to tell ya one of things is a para expo/event/conference deal. We hope to have details in the next few months for what we have in mind for next year!  We also by the time of the expo hope to have some gear for sell custom made gear (IR lights; EM Pumps; and few IR light variations that are in prototype stage now!) So that’s two things we’ve been up to…

What else? Well we also working on some ways to “improve” the use of pendulums and dowsing rods for a more controlled way to use them…. Details as well coming on that as we finish our designs.  We enjoy trying new things in the para field/hobby/whatever you wanna call it, new ideas whether they work or not are the key to finding what does work. My advice to groups starting out is be open to change, change in how you do an invest, what you use, what constitutes evidence – be open to changing and reevaluating of all things paranormal! Don’t be afraid to remove EVP’s or picture or video evidence that you know what it is, you will get respect for sticking up to the truth your seeking…

Peace,
Cedric

Paranormal Q&A with Trevor Gibson (Chapter 3)

Trevor Gibson

Who Are You?
Trevor Scott Gibson: shop smart, shop S mart.

What are your thoughts on networking with other teams or investigators?
I think it’s a good idea to do so, it keeps the community in touch, allows for idea and tech swapping, and could help other investigators and groups learn from each others experience.

Hunter, Investigator, Researcher – What do you want to be referred to and why?
Technologist, since soon I will be building gear for the group.

What is your most memorable paranormal experience?
Does waking up count?

Have you ever had an experience where you’ve crossed a spirit over?
Not as yet, though I would love to be a part of that.

Did you have experiences while growing up?
When I was about 6, I knew my grandfather had died hours before my house got the phone call, woke up bawling my eyes out, inconsolable, freaked out my cousin who was babysitting my siblings and myself (my mother was helping with my grandfather’s care at the time).

What is your favorite Paranormal Show (TV/Internet/Radio)?
Does fox news count? Well it’s certainly not normal… other than that I watch whatever strikes my fancy at that moment, so I guess I don’t really have a particular favorite.

What are your thoughts about Provoking?
It has its place in its own way, but like most things, should be done in moderation, I believe some things shouldn’t be purposefully angered.

What are your thoughts about Orbs? Dust or spirit? How do you tell the difference?
It would take a pretty deliberate flight path for me to believe that a speck on camera is an orb, say, a figure eight might do.

Would you ever use a Medium or Psychic on your team?
Certainly, I don’t see a reason not to, but I take any information as conjecture until it is confirmed through information gathering and fact finding.

Update: 6-16-2012

Hello everyone after talking and really digging into alot the last few weeks about digital photography and how settings can cause  false positives I came to the conclusion that the picture from our private case on 7-17-2010 seen below is NOT paranormal, though it is very interesting to look at, because looking deeper into the photo’s meta data that tells us if the flash was used, iso speed, F-stop settings, etc. Tells us that the photo is an extreme light source movement blur caused by a shaky hand and camera settings at time of picture being snapped – we have since changed our investigative guidelines to have all pictures from this point on be shot from on a tripod and have moved this picture to our 50/50 section.

We have never been ones to stop learning and now that we know what caused this we moved its designation. While we continue our journey and learn whats really out their we have no problem sharing images, video & audio for peer review.  We believe in sharing knowledge and ideas.   We hope you continue on this journey with us! We are proud to be part of the paranormal community and are pleased that we have done a few things first – as well as have the ability to continue to grow as investigators and more importantly people!  Thank you all for your help and support. We continue on for that search for the Holy Grail of paranormal research… whatever that is 🙂 The only way we will advance the field is by sharing not just what we have or think we captured but by sharing the knowledge that makes it that…. Take care everyone.

Peace,
Cedric

Changes, Changes, Changes…..

Personal life as well as the paranormal field is always changing and evolving… at least it should be.   When we all first started our journey into forming what became the Midnight Watchmen we were young and ready to explore. Over the years since then we’ve lost a few members to life changes, divorce, kids, marriage, money/time. The para field or hobby isn’t cheap, travel costs-place costs-lost time for cases and meetings. It takes it toll on us all!  I’ve never told any members not to put their family first, as if we can’t take care of our selves how are we going to help those who come to us?

I’m still learning new things about digital photography, psychological how the mind works type stuff, website design and generally about people everyday. Its a fun hobby…. it really is so much fun! The history drives me… The EVP’s drive me…. Helping people drives me…. In the end isn’t that whats important? Helping people and the need to learn ‘What’s out there?” I love seeing what happens next – ride continues my friends.

Change is inevitable except from maybe a vending machine… so take it when it comes.

Peace,
Cedric
