The Finish Line

What’s the point? The End Game? Why do we do what we do in search of truth and what is truly paranormal? How does one go from truth seeker to celebrity or making a living of this hobby of ours? For that matter why does it matter??

Sure the band wagon gets too full and some fall off – which starts the backlash…. Sometimes its warranted others, well… not so much.  So I guess i’m asking myself is it worth it all? By it I mean the search for what’s out there.  For me I haven’t crossed that celebrity bridge, I may never have to – hell it prolly wasn’t on most of the minds of these paranormal “big wigs” we know and “love” now.

I know for me it feels like i’m the only cab on the road.   We as paranormal teams and people aren’t really social beings at times – just pack animals (our teams) and fight for our “spot” in the pecking order. I see it happen over and over, most of the time I honestly see people do it on instinct. That fight that drives them takes them too far… And by no means am I saying i’m perfect – i’m far from that.

I just think that we all need to re-evaluate how we go about our interactions with other groups and people, whether its about evidence, techniques, beliefs, or just general.  We ALL have something to add to the para community – failures, success, knowledge, all have their place.

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

What Happens When You Die?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triquetra

Well the old saying is nothing is final but death and taxes, but is that really all their is? This grind we all go through paying bills, working, loving (I hope for all of you anyway), and counting down the moments to the end?? For longer then I can remember I’ve thought about that, growing up hearing about Jesus and Heaven then as I grew more into my own I expand upon that idea with the question of ”what if’…. By that I mean if you take religion out of it that faith that there is something more.. what do we have left? The answer in my view isn’t much… this isn’t a knock on any religion just an observation.  As a wise pastor once said “If you believe and your wrong were is the harm in that?”  I think the same applies to paranormal investigation – its almost become its on religion. Scary thought for some of us who look into the unknown i’m sure… but its true.

Back to my point I’ll simply say that something happens when we die. I’ve witnessed love ones pass away in front of me.  Can I say for sure that that moment the soul left and went to heaven or wherever? No I can not, i’d like to think they are in a better place and not just gone… While I’ve captured E.V.P.’s on investigations, I can not say 100% they are spirits from human beings – honestly they can be, but not limited too: Human Souls, Demons, Other world entities like aliens or something from another dimension, echos in space time, unknown  RF interference, audio matrixing, etc.  Quite a list right? All possible, really in this life I’ve learned a few things…. 1) Things happen for a reason.  2) Positive thoughts actions bring positive results 3) LOVE is all you need to be happy.  Of course I’ve learned allot more as well, but then again who wants to read about the time I burnt myself on something and learned not to touch hot things lol

My point is things are what they are at times, we all move forward learning along the way.  That path we travel is our own, but others are on it as well somewhere, maybe different places, but they with you. So don’t be negative if someone doesn’t see eye to eye with you they haven’t reached that point in the road yet to understand or maybe you haven’t…. See my point?

Take a breath and soon I bet you’ll see
Without you I would never be me
You are the leaves of my family tree….”

Reflections of the Paranormal Peaks and Valleys

Diablo has nothing to do with article, but you can consider it the darker half of paranormal...
Diablo has nothing to do with article, but you can consider it the darker half of paranormal…

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how the pieces fit in life. How the bad leads to good, and just as the good can lead to bad. As I was pondering this began to compare that thought to my life/journey down the paranormal.  I look back when I started “hunting ghosts” with friends at Urban Legend locations, the fear and excitement of it all…. The path began long before those moments, but with out those moments i’m not here today sitting here telling you this.  Without those moments I’d never investigated Gettysburg or met one of my best friends (Miss Information my friend and thankfully someone who keeps me on the right path, which is a challenge she needs to be given credit for that!) Being asked to be in a DVD after only having a handful of investigations under our belts and the location was the first official place we investigated as a group was.  I’ve thought about the students at Delval College whom I spoke to 2 years running, is a experience that i’ll never forget or imagine i’d be doing. I’ve probably said all that all before, but it needs repeating – if not for the paranormal i’d not the person I am today which is better then the one who started this journey. I have the guts to admit that and by no means am I a king or know it all paranormal wise. We all learn everyday in the para field or hobby, but some of us don’t want to – that is a problem.

And as such i’m calling out and on every single paranormal group or organization or celebrity or fan or whatever in this field/hobby and to say this:  “I am not always right, nor am I always wrong. I am human being with ideas, thoughts, believes and joy who does things my own way.  And that’s OK  ” I’m so tired of people fighting over what amounts to nothing positive in the long run, yes I’ve been guilty of that it happens, but lets be honest it doesn’t have to.  To me the first step of many these different views on paranormal is to get them in the same room so to speak….  So lets gather and mingle a little… give it a try… who knows you may actually like the people you disagree with. Debates do not need to be personal, just thought provoking.  Checking the ego’s at the door and we all win…
