Paranormal Q&A with JRo (Jesse Roth) (Chapter 1)

JRo
JRO (Jesse Roth)

Who are you?

JRo Jesse Roth. I am formerly a research investigator for SONA Paranormal. More recently I am getting into the journalistic aspect of the paranormal field by writing blogs and producing an internet radio show.

Explain your Methodology?

When asked to do an investigation by a client, I have a list of questions I run down with the client. While some questions such as asking “Are you/ were you ever on drugs either legal or otherwise, alcohol use, mental health issues etc… I do explain to them are ONLY for my teams use, I am not the police, I just need to know who I am dealing with. Most are very compliant and do not have an issue with me asking such questions. The key to that part though is always be sensitive to the client. I also run geographical histories on the property, I scour news articles for any public info I can find on the property and I interview anyone willing to share history or experiences with the property. Once inside the property, I search for anything physical that could possibly be a contributor to activity. For example, Bad Chemical storage, Bad wiring, peeling paint, has anything been renovated could explain squeaks or creeks, is the building settling, is it single family or multiple family buildings etc. I then proceed to do an investigation if necessary. When the investigation is complete, I will review the evidence and then show the client what we found or in some cases, what we didn’t find. While this doesn’t cover every step, it’s a basic run down of how I go about investigating.

Favorite Haunts?

I don’t have one specific favorite place. Any location thats haunted will do just fine for me.

Personal Experiences?

I share a lot of my personal experiences with my son. While I have had several before and since his birth, the ones that impact me the most are the ones shared with him. We have shared psychic and shadow person experiences.

Why did you get into the Paranormal?

It’s always just been a way of life for me, however a few years back I was awaiting the judgement on my disability case and I found myself bored with sitting at home all the time so I wound up joining a team, the original team I started with was not the right fit for me so after a year I ended up joining SONA Paranormal. While I am no longer with SONA, I still keep in touch with them and have a close relationship with them.

What’s next?

Paranormal Journalism. I wish to relaunch my paranormal radio show and spend time working on my blogs again.

Do you think that paranormal shows (radio/TV/Internet) give groups bad reputation?

I really think the reputation of said group is determined by their actions themselves. I don’t think radio/tv/internet makes or breaks your reputation, If the group itself is worthy of a bad reputation, they will get just that whether they have any type of show or not.

Who is the person in the paranormal field you look up to the most or want to be like?

I have actually gotten to know and respect several people in the field. It wouldn’t be fair to name just one…..Oh to heck with it…. Bob Christopher and actually his entire team, N.E.P.A. Paranormal. They are such wonderful people. I have had the pleasure of working with them and getting to know them. They are the type of people that need to be in this field. They are ALWAYS helpful, they never will be condescending towards those seeking to learn. When I first got into this field seriously there were so many people that were so … I don’t even know what to say nicely so here goes…Stuck up. I was bowled over by how rude and mean people could be, but Bob and his team always take out time to help, assist, teach and just be there for even just the simplest of questions. It’s people like N.E.P.A. and a handful of other teams I know I really look up to and respect in this field.

Have you made a page on www.paranormaldictionary.com?

No I have not. I feel weird writing about myself LOL, Even this survey has me anxiety ridden but I promised I would do it LOL

Name some Random Facts about you?

Redhead, funny, hard on myself sometimes. People either love me or hate me.

Are you a skeptic or a believer?

I am a skeptical believer. While I am 100% convinced spirits exist, I will try everything and anything possible to debunk activity before I cave in and think to myself “yeah that wasn’t normal”

Paranormal Q&A with Mindy Wheeler (Chapter 3)

Mindy Wheeler

Who Are You?

My name’s Mindy, I’m a co-founder of PA Paranormal Association, based in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

What are your thoughts on networking with other teams or investigators?

I think it’s great. We all don’t have to agree, but we can all learn from each other as long as there’s respect. Aren’t there enough ghosts to go around?

Hunter, Investigator, Researcher – What do you want to be referred to and why?

We have used all of the above at one point or another, but mainly focus on Investigator. Hunter sounds slightly negative, like we’re going after ghosts to attack and while Researcher does describe us, it’s not only research that we do.

What is your most memorable paranormal experience?

Probably when I was touched. I felt a complete hand on my shoulder for several seconds when there was no one and nothing near me. It didn’t feel like it brushed my shirt or might have been a breeze, I could feel individual fingers. It took my breath away and was one of the coolest (and slightly creepiest) moments in this field.

Have you ever had an experience where you’ve crossed a spirit over?

I’m not “in tune” to spirits well enough to know if I was successful in assisting them in crossing over, but we’ve attempted that in most locations. Obviously, we’re there to research and learn and try to find evidence of the paranormal, but these were people who were alive like you and me and it would be wrong to want to keep them stuck here just so we can “play.”

Did you have experiences while growing up?

I did have many experiences growing up, some of which I don’t remember, I was just told about, of seeing, hearing, feeling, dreaming, you name it.

What is your favorite Paranormal Show (TV/Internet/Radio?

I don’t watch any reality paranormal shows. I’ll watch some fiction shows sometimes, just for entertainment.

What are your thoughts about Provoking?

I disagree with it. First I believe we should respect the spirits, but also feel that you don’t know (no matter how much research you’ve done or how religious you are) what you’re provoking or what you’re going to get yourself or others into.

What are your thoughts about Orbs? Dust or spirit? How do you tell the difference?

I believe orbs have the potential to be spirits, however I believe over 99% of orbs captured are not paranormal. We will very rarely even give an orb a second look because even if it might be paranormal, if there’s a possibility of dust/bug we will throw it out.

Would you ever use a Medium or Psychic on your team?

We have and do use people with gifts when we feel it’s necessary, may be helpful or if the client requests it, however we rarely use anything from them as actual evidence.

Paranormal Q&A with Mindy Wheeler (Chapter 2)

Who are you?

My name’s Mindy, I’m a co-founder of PA Paranormal Association, based in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Do you believe in Reincarnation? Who do you think you were in your past life (or lives)?

Yes, I believe in reincarnation. I have never had a past life regression but it’s definitely something I’d like to try sometime. For some reason, in my gut, I feel like I served in the Vietnam War with my uncle.

What are your thoughts on Para Unity?

I think it’s great. We all don’t have to agree, but we can all learn from each other as long as there’s respect. Aren’t there enough ghosts to go around?

Have you ever investigated a Church? What are your thoughts on this?

Actually, we haven’t. I think that would be an interesting experience. There are usually high emotions in a church, I can imagine that energy would possibly feed into anything paranormal going on there.

When having a joint investigation with another team(s), how do you select the team(s) or members of other teams that you invite?

We haven’t had a joint investigation with another team. We would be open to the idea of it, however, as long as we trusted and had similar work ethics. We would probably decide on the team and members based on our needs for that particular investigation and their strengths and skills.

What do you tell someone looking to join a team, what should they look for or ask?

First, we explain that this is time consuming. More than the hour or two they might see on tv. They have to be willing and able to meet the time commitment. They also want to find a team who has the same beliefs they do about how the business and investigations are run. If someone is more focused on the intuition side of things, they probably want to avoid a team that is more focused on scientific, unless both sides want to expand and they feel they can compliment each other.

Any advice to a group just starting out?

Start simply, make sure what you are doing you are doing well and correctly before expanding with new equipment, new investigations, new members. You need a solid foundation to build on.

Do you think it’s important to share findings with others in the paranormal community?

Of course! The more information that’s out there, the more we can all learn.

You run across a team that you feel gives a bad name to the field. How do you handle the situation? Do you confront them about it?

I would only confront them if I feel that it would help. Most of the time, those kinds of people/groups will 1. not listen to constructive criticism anyway, so why waste my breath and cause drama and 2. will end up burning bridges for themselves and will soon have a reputation they don’t want.

Do you feel it is important to do a background investigation on the location (land/building) that you’re going to investigate?

We do investigate anything we can about the history of the location or residents as needed for investigating purposes. When we investigate, usually some of us will go in “blind”, that is not knowing any background information about the location, the owners, the experiences or anything at all and then others will go in with that information. If an investigator has no knowledge of experiences but has the same experience, it add more credibility to the story and any evidence we have, however an investigator going in with the knowledge can use it for social relevance to hopefully get responses as well.

Hitler Attacks South America…errr I mean Lives Out Final days In?

hitler_with_child
Hitler talking to a little girl, unknown year.

So as the peruse through my news feed today and an article pops up (read it here) about Hitler in South America, which is nothing new really for conspiracy/history buffs. To me anything is possible, the chaos as Berlin fell is well documented and very little evidence exists to prove what really happened to Hitler & Eva Braun on those final days, yes I know their are claims that Hitler was seen slumped over a desk but the body wasn’t check to see if it was him or even if he was alive.  The evidence presented would undoubtedly be circumstantial in my mind.  Anyway we already know a good number of Nazis did go to South America to live out there final days, so why not the biggest one of them all? In the article it points out the had a black wife to throw off the trail of him being the Fuhrer and some would say he’d never do that: my response to that is that its depends on this question: is his hatred for them more then his desire to live? A valid question that I think people should ponder…. So was he really alive to his 95th birthday? Hell if I know, bottom line is he’s more then likely rotting in some demons orifice about now…. Then again maybe Elvis, JFK, Tupac, Biggie, and him are all sharing a condo in Atlantis that they rent from a Yeti…..

Peace,

John C. Fowler
