What’s Really Missing in the Paranormal Community?

checklistSo what’s really missing in the paranormal community is a fairly simple and complex question depending on who asks or answers, but taking a step back not just from my perspective as an investigator, fan and para expo organizer  I see a few things that can be fixed that are missing.  I think the biggest stumbling block is lack of solid foundation with terms.  Granted someone would say I’m biased since I’m also the founder of www.paranormaldictionary.com, but truth is I’ve seen arguments based on agreement. Yup, people arguing who is right using different terms that mean the same thing! It’s insane. Now that would fix a ton of issues, but wait I have more.

Shared knowledge is missing and to me that goes along with accountability (I’ve written at least two pieces on that alone!).  If my belief/idea/theory is spread, then I come to prove or see its now wrong, I need to adjust that get the new info out to the masses.  Admit the earlier belief/idea/theory was wrong with why and move on, then if needed repeat.  Can you imagine where we’d be with just a little accountability??

Now here is where we get gritty and to me fun, because it challenges some peoples views:  Cryptid, UFO, Aliens, Ghosts, Unexplained Mysteries & History are all paranormal.  Yes I said it!  We are all in the same family…  Paranormal is defined as events that can not readily be explained by “the range of normal experience or scientific explanation.”  Well that fits everything we do chasing unexplained whether its aliens, ghosts, cryptids, etc.  One day this definition may change, but the core will be the same.   So shouldn’t we communicating between these groups? Looking at what correlates? What doesn’t? More importantly… why? That would strengthen everyone’s knowledge base, which is mega plus to the field or hobby.

Yes, I’m well aware that this will not be something we can all do over night and like anything we will still have the fame seekers, the “experts” and the ones in it just for fun, but atleast we will be on the better path to actually finding out what’s really out there in this crazy world we live.  And at the end of the day for every mystery solved, two will pop up…. you know what? I’m fine with that.

Peace,

Connections

They are everywhere in life if you lucky enough to see them or in some cases allowed to.  Some people naturally see them and follow them, others mostly see but ignore them as everyday by product of the world we live in. I for one had an epiphany one day in my teens watching smoke after that I started to really see the connections and how they really bind us.  You see I call them symmetry…. They match….. And to me this is beyond the simple ‘oh you like AC/DC’ too thing.

old_gear_cog_wheels_covered_in_cob_webs_by_sad_fantasy-d5n7kiwI’m talking the moment the universe clicks and shows you behind the curtain. That moment of oh my… That glimpse into beauty of it all…. When you’re given a mission if you will your destiny for moment anyway. Do you except it or deny it? I for one embrace it now and take the challenge. After all its usually more about someone else then me, but I learn so much on the journey……

I’m sure your all wondering what the hell the above has to do with a paranormal investigation site, right?  Stay with me here, trust me on this.  We and by we I mean everyone involved in the paranormal community has learned something along our travels that we wouldn’t otherwise have learned, now to me that’s beyond dumb luck and ventures into the realm of fate.  Sure its a stretch, but seeing is believing!  Maybe its energy we tap into or maybe God showing you something the point isn’t what it is but what it does… And when you see beyond the veil for a moment just a moment it for me ignites the urge to see what else is there, makes the hours of investigating where nothing happens, and the more hours of review/travel worth it.  Just for that next moment of ‘ah’.  It could be an E.V.P. with direct meaning or something else on a case that just hits home, but when it does hold on to your hat, the rides really just begun….

So next time you make  a connection you probably should never have made or guessed, remember that curtain was pulled back for a minute for you and only you, cherish that moment…. one never knows when it’ll happen again if it happens again…. And that my friends is what makes the adventure so fun….. #whatsnext

Moments That Freeze Time

surprise-dogI’d like to relay a story its short:

The other day was my birthday, I had a few messages a day early from people in different time zones, no biggie. Well about 5 minutes after midnight or so on the actual day of my birthday I of course started getting texts, instant messages etc.  One of the first ones was from my uncle who had passed away a few years ago saying happy birthday.  Of course it made me stop dead for a second and just stare. I think may have actually said “What the F@#k?” And of course I was stunned.  He was one of my favorite uncles and brought back some of the pain knowing he was gone.

Now a lot of people would say he contacted me from the other side! Or have taken solace in that a lost loved one still is there watching.  Me I looked at my uncles Facebook page and saw my Aunt still uses it from time to time… I didn’t know that. LOL

All i’m saying is things are not always what they seem, nor as crazy as they seem on the surface at times. And some the best moments are the ones that not only make you think, or smile, but feel.  And somewhere I know my Uncle is laughing at that moment…
